Whoah! What a ride! Very intense! Fantastic ...This was a very serious take on the inherent risks of other 'cultures', that we otherwise think we understand. Loved it.
Totally nice that the General didn't want Rodney going out in the Atlantis public with his own culture's values being so misunderstood! Classic stage 2 culture shock symptoms!
Ooh yeah, I can see Rodney's total quandary with the not chasing up John for wrestling in the face of his newly discovered mastabatory fantasies. No one wants to just be carbon copies of their AU selves, but obviously the attraction is there and grooowing!!
I loved how honest our Rodney was when the spanking seemed inevitable. Whoo! He so totally comes through when the chips are down - owning up to his part in the whole fiasco! The General was so chilling! Very strict *sigh* Love consistent, strict tops. Good meteing of justice from the General and our John that Rodney has to stay and watch, as his punishment.
Damn! I try and make my feedback original, so on Part 9, I've been writing as I read - with my own words - and then I read further down you using the same words (e.g. fiasco)! Oh well, I guess it means we are on the same wave-length! *g*
Rodney's reflections after the private switching were sooo great. It really brought home to me how precarious their position is there, in a foreign culture, and I love how they both get so choked up at the thought of being separated by getting tossed in the brig - and yet not for the punishment to themselves, but for the fallout for their partner! I got pretty teary when Rodney wept over that. So lovely! So vulnerable!
Wow what an amazing finish! Very ful*filling*! I feel a still centre in my spirit!
