I think you're right about your complexity of the plot, fast pace and exploration of dark themes. I've been really surprised and pleased at the immense detail of the fight scenes, particularly coming from someone so anti-violence for the sake of violence - you've clearly done a lot of background work - kudos!!! Sign of a good writer is one who does their homework.
Please do write the novel you have in your head, I think you'd be surprised at how well you can do it, if this fanfiction is anything to go by.
You're so right about Tony and Gibbs together - I think that was one of the things that got me hooked on the series in the beginning, was this dynamic they have (which SB endeavoured to destroy), a clear personnification of ying and yang, which together are indestructible.
