I'm so sorry you've had a rough few weeks *hugs*. I knew this fic would be too dark for some when I started posting it. Conversely, I'm actually really proud of it! I really did think my writing brain had packed up and was gone forever and didn't write anything of substance for several months. So I was thrilled to produce something as fast paced and plotty as this :-).
There might be threats all around them, but please know that I'd never take Tony and Gibbs down a path too dark for us to follow. Their relationship is the light that shines in that dark, and makes it all worthwhile. I get the feeling as I read the fb that people are reacting more to their fear of what might happen than what is actually going on - although that is bad enough, obviously!
I loved the Tony in this story too - he really is so incredibly bright and shiny here, how I want him to be on the show but he so rarely has been of late, although we've seen signs that might be coming back.
And yes, they are so close now to having a very long overdue conversation about the feelings they have for each other. I think it took this degree of pressure to make them finally get close to fessing up!
