You can always give it a try and see if it's for you. It IS dark and violent in places...but I don't think I write in a way that is too scary and the point of dark and violent is to give counterpoint to light and loving which is there too! You don't appreciate the latter so much if the former doesn't exist - it's the hurt/comfort equation! The two wolves of the title are incredibly important thematically - it's about how the light can draw someone out of the dark.
And yes! That picture is very inspiring *g*. I guess that's why it caused a 142,000 word fic from me!
