With the Duranda thing - that isn't my take on the characters. This isn't the General's universe - he's made his point and he also understands that John isn't in a relationship with Rodney in this universe and therefore doesn't have the same responsibility to him as he does to his own Rodney. There's also absolutely no reason for the General to be emotionally invested in it - especially as it didn't happen while he was actually there. He might have his own views on that but he's being careful not to do more than make his point and then leave it.
