You are such a lifesaver. I, too, was having trouble sleeping and was wishing for something new to read. I checked my email and, behold, a new story from you! Not just a story, but something I had been wishing for. Sorry this is a little long but there was just so much I liked in it.
I have SO been craving a story showing Tony’s strength and toughness. You did it perfectly! The annoying, goofy side is part of his charm but the underlying tough Tony is what makes him so appealing and just isn’t brought out enough! Gibbs got a wake up call for sure. ~Looking at him right now, he realises that Tony knows everything, the sneaky son of a bitch. He always has. He always will. He's *Tony* after all. ~He knows all Tony's moods, and Tony is at his most dangerous when he's quiet. ~Tony slams down his beer bottle and crosses the room to where he's standing, and it's all Gibbs can do not to take a step back. Tony's eyes are glowing furiously.
I dearly love Gibbs but he needs a big dose of his own ‘in your face’ medicine from time to time. Tony is just the one to give it to him. ~I'm going to drag you back to the land of the living. And you can kick and holler all the way but you *are* coming back with me." ~Tony's rule number three - never give up on Gibbs, no matter how much he pisses you off."
I like happy endings and this was great, Jackson is being watched over, Shannon leaves smiling, Tony is grinning as he falls asleep, and Gibbs realizes that his days of loneliness are over.
