I'm not a morning person either - I need a cup of tea and some peace and quiet for half an hour before emerging from my shell and interacting. I thought Tony might be similar.
And I really love your comments about sensory deprivation because I totally could see that being how it worked for Tony. He's so extrovert and full of energy - in some ways there's a kind of peace and serenity for him in not performing for the crowd all the time.
