Yeah, it was the separation of himself into two people that caused a lot of his psychological problems. It's not like he's over it just like that, but it's another step on the path to a healing process that'll take a very long time.
I like writing the best bits of the characters and not some of the lame canon stuff they've given us. So my Ziva is strong and brave and true and a bit clueless but tries hard.
And yeah...The Confrontation...that happens tomorrow *g*.
