I know what you mean about John and Ford's comment - I thought that John let it pass partly because it was *Ford* and partly because John was feeling mellow and didn't want to ruin their coming "out". I'm sure that wouldn't always be the case. But also I think this is something Ford and Rodney need to sort out for themselves - which is what happens in the next chapter in a way - where they finally find some common ground.
I loved your insights into Radek. I think he probably does feel Rodney has kind of sold out. He knew Rodney didn't share his views on sexuality but he was probably hoping Rodney would hold out against the norm. It IS a disappointment to him. I wanted to represent the dissenting view of their society. There's no reason why everyone should conform to the norm. Poor Radek - I do love him so much.
