That's very much the case with John. Also, as I've mentioned before, Rodney does enjoy a bit of sexual pain if it's done right. He doesn't want to feel scared or in agony, but he does get off on knowing he's surrendering to John and John can do what he likes to him. John reads him well as well - he's pushing Rodney's boundaries and it takes Rodney to a fantastic place in his head.
