"I especially liked your comment on the food *g*. I do wince in the show when Rodney shovels down his dinner - I want someone to just make him take it slow, so there's an element of wish fulfilment in this fic for me."
*Grins* ... and you write it so well. :) I think the way he eats is probably all part of that vulnerable aura he has about him, like he doesn't feel he's going to get comfort from anywhere else and this is it for him, and he's afraid that someone is going to take it away from him if he lingers.
"As for "House man" from G&DS - with John there's an ever present fear of someone hurting Rodney as well as the sense of possession. I think the two go hand in hand. He just has a very over developed sense of protectiveness, combined with a toppy sense of Rodney being *his* sub. I think in their world this is probably less startling than it is in ours.
Definitely! It's all part of what their universe is about, and living in ours it sometimes takes a while to fully appreciate the differences. I know that (for example, in G&DS) as much as I loved the fact that John got really upset when anyone touched Rodney without his permission, I understood and loved the primal(*mine*)instinct but never really got the protective part of that and that's what I finally discovered in this chapter, and with it comes an even greater appreciation of their society and ways. :)
..."They are just intensely compatible both as people and sexually, as sub and top..."
I completely agree! To venture into the territory of complete sappiness, I just know that these two are soulmates.
