Definitely was sleepy today, and turns out I have a nasty cold. Or upper repiratory infection with this fever I have, but *shrugs*. In any case, stayed home and slept most of the day away.
And huh. You'd think I would've consciously picked up on the linguistic differences (favourite/favorite) earlier, but I didn't. *facepalm* I'm getting used to reading all the ways words are spelled worldwide, I guess. :)
You know what? I've had the irresistable urge to apologize for my country since our current (fascist) president came into power. And it's only gotten stronger since we listen to PRI/BBC World News on National Public Radio every afternoon at work. There seem to be too few of my fellow Americans who don't realize that our country was initially populated by Eurpoean rejects - all the religious extremists and such who just couldn't find a place to settle that accepted their oddness, to put it one way. Heh.
Thank you for pointing out the linguistic differences as nicely as you have, dear. It just didn't occur to me about the "Zee/Zed" difference. Then again, I really should've known better, since I grew up with a fairly distinct regional dialect accent. Still find myself occasionally throwing out Pennsylvania Dutch words in conversation. ;) *hugs* -----}-@
