The best part of this was when Rodney put the leash over Bates head. To me that was expressing in no certain terms that Rodney wasn't broken by Bates and had no use for abusive tops. It certainly made me think that Rodney still had a fighting spirit though he had been so depressed before.
Great fight scene. You write tightly and bring out just enough to stir the strongest emotions in your reader. Bravo!
