Holy shit! What a ride! I haven't commented before now because I wanted to get the whole flavor, if you will, of the story before writing any kind of a reaction. So ... Wow. Cool. Hot. And yet, oddly romantic. I especially liked the third John/Rodney set. At first, I was a little confused as to why you would add an additional pair to the story, but looking back at it, I can see that a) it gave the original pairs a common goal to fight for/against and b) it gave Rodney, and to a lesser extent John, a chance to see that, yes, they are meant for each other, no matter what the universe. I enjoyed the story so much, that I'm cringing here by thinking about a criticism, but here goes: First, let me preface this with the fact that even though the second couple were in fact John and Rodney, I still preferred to read about the couple we know and love. Not because of any squick or opposition to D/s, but rather, it was because the main set is more recognizable to me; more believable. That said, when our John and Rodney finally made the move toward each other, I found that John's overwhelmingly dominant behavior pulled me out of the story. You'd never hesitated to let us in on what John was thinking or feeling, and it just seemed odd to me for him to jump in with both feet into this type of a relationship without any kind of personal reflection about what he wanted or needed from his nearly inevitable joining with Rodney. I don't want to say that I think the ending should have had a kinder, gentler John, but as written, it's like he went from zero to dungeon master in one easy step (OK, not that much). I really, really enjoyed the story, and I look forward to reading more! :)
