the other's universe's rules and the way their society works had been very interesting throughout the fic and in the last chp, we saw that those differences could become very incompatible with the way our universe works, with the kavanaugh incident. hence, the culture clash here was logical and i understoog mckay completely and rodney shep less though, but still understood many of his points. very interesting chp. :) thing is, i understand how john shep is gonna punish rodney, but that it would be resolved, while mckay was left "hanging" if u will, u know what i mean? i hurt very much for rodney sheppard and i had tears in my eyes despite myself during his punishment, esp the private one, when he was against the wall and was outraged when i thought that john wanted to fuck, but then he wasn't, which was ok. one thing though, during the other scenes of punishment/submission, i was always struck by and touched with the way john was with rodney- very loving. the love and the care balanced the other bits out, u know? but in this scene, i found that lacking, even if we *did* see it. was it deliberate?
