My insomnia is killing me, so it's been another sleepless night. However it's totally worth it when you give us a chapter like that!
I really like to envision Tony as Gibbs' conscious. He is constantly forcing the man to examine his soul and find the light within. The two of them really have a whole yin/yang thing going.
You really did a great job showing Gibbs' dilemma; which was more important the safety of the many or the few. Like a true marine, cop, firefighter, etc. he chose to help everyone except himself. Although I believe he finally realized that by saving all of the fighters he would get back the pieces of his soul stolen by Walid, Scott, and the pit.
Sorry, I tend to wax philosophical when I'm sleep deprived, but I can't say enough good things about this chapter! I can't wait for the wrap-up tomorrow. I'll be reading and reviewing later though, because I have got to get some sleep. I have a sitting tomorrow for new head-shots, and my hair and make-up are early.
Thanks again for giving us such a wonderful story. It's hard to look at the dark side of human nature but worth it I think. Don't you agree?
