I love this story. I've been enjoying the contrast between the two cutltures an awful lot. I have to giggle at Rodney's arrogance though. The idea that he's mastered the basics pretty well. Umm, except for one little thing, Rodney....obeying orders on a mission! And ain't that basic? LOL!
I'm wondering is we're going to see any of the down side of the other culture though. So far I have to agree with Rodney's assesment, that it's all been about how superior the BDSM universe is over our own. I'm wondering where the trade offs occur. Well, I guess the whole public humiliation thing is the only down side I've seen so far. But that really seems sort of trivial and not all that different from someone being tried in a court of law, having their actions laid out in front of the public.
I think this is the first BDSM fic I've read where the whole BDSM dynamic makes sense. It's explained in a context that, whether it feels comfortable or not for us, actually makes sense and hangs together, even down to the whole public humiliation aspect of things. That's a pretty big accomplishment! Great job!
