First, I want to say thank you for addressing the mess they've been making of Tony's character in the last couple of years. Because either the writers have never heard of character development and are trying to stagnate Tony into one role, that of joker (which, unfortunately, I think is the case), or they're getting ready to do one hell of a whopping Tony-centric story and delve deep into his backstory (which would be wonderful, but is unlikely).
That being said, you have absolutely captured the manic quality of Tony recently. You've got all of his digressions and tangents and rambling references, and it works spectacularly well in the context of therapy for exploring what lies underneath all that noise.
As for Jeff, I'm pretty sure I know what's going on there, but I'm off to read the second part now and I don't want to spoil anything.
