You blew my mind. Really. I've been reading your work (and loving it) for so many years now, and you still manage to surprise and delight me. In this case, it was the utter realism of this story. It wasn't overly erotic, like some of your other works, but it perfectly captured another aspect of BDSM relationships, and one that is not often highlighted or handled particularly well.

Carson cared for Rodney, and was doing this because it was what Rodney *needed* not because it was what Carson particularly wanted. It was not by any means abusive. There was also a line drawn between the punishment and the play. Also, the mutual trust and respect was beautiful.
