OMG! This was a classic emotionalturmoil!John chapter! Just so great! Such great insights in "top" thinking and behaviour and him as a person. I love how he just didn't let the whole thing go and perserved with finding out what was at the bottom of all this - and he's just the right balance of commanding and assured and yet not quite knowing what's going on with Rodney until towards the end.
What a beautiful spanking! I know it was punishment but it was sooo intimate nevertheless. And so cathartic! Poor Rodney - he really needed that, the lamb!
Phew! I'm so relieved John finally got Bates. I loved that whole listening in scene and I was saying to myself "not yet, not yet ... Wait John ... til you get the whole thing" Ooh you drew that out - it was torture! The tension was getting unbearable! Yay! to those three hard punches and flinging him around the room like the rat that he is!
I was curious about going back and forth through the gate. I didn't think it was bi-directional on the one hole. I'm probably wrong though ... *g*
Ooh nice touch with the choke collar banning movement - just adds that lovely detail to the overall picture of the culture - and the fact that the movement to ban them failed! Yikes! Really lends cred to that statement the General made in G&DS about our Rodney and John's world being a kinder, nicer culture.
Oh this was such a angsty chapter but I'm so glad the bates thing is a bit more sorted out. No doubt he'll be seething now and out for revenge! Hope we haven't seen the last of him LOL! Great writing Xanthe! Loving it all! On to Part 6 ...
